right back at you sister!

A little while ago the brilliant France Belleville made a post that claimed I'd inspired her to draw her old Converse - after she'd seen a drawing of mine. Well, right back at you sister! I was inspired to draw my Birkenstocks after seeing this amazing pencil drawing of hers. Take a look at it here.

Nice Birks! I like the simplicity of your approach with this one. You and France must be two of the most compulsively creative EDMers I know.

nice. somehow different and much "lighter" than your usual sketches.

Sister! Hahaha -- i went to Flickr first, which already made me feel pretty special! But whoa, thanks. I love these. And i love how you kept them simple -- i would have tried to cross-hatch the heck out of them, go figure. You know where to stop, and the results are gorgeous.
And i WANT this model of Birkenstocks. :-)

Cheers guys!

I was a bit worried as to whether I had used this phrase in the right context - I only heard it today on an American chat show!

This sketch is much 'lighter' than my usual approach and it's one of my most favourite drawings that I've produced. It's funny but I always like the ones that look least like my usual style.

And I WAS very tempted to go on cross hatching but I made myself put the book down.

Thank you all for the comments - and thank you for the inspiration France!

Thank you all for the kind comments.

Welcome to those who are visiting for the first time. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Birkenstocks - just like Coneverse - really seem to have a special place in peoples hearts and wardrobes!

Cheers.

Ah yes, beloved birkies. The official shoe of Berkeley, where I live. :)

And fabulous drawing! I love the side "elevation" views.

I just love Birckenstocks, I wear them all spring and summer :-) I have mine for more then 3 years now and considering that I wear them most of the year, they are still in perfect shape, best buy I'd say ;-)
